The assault trial involving former New England Patriots wide receiver Diggs began on May 4, with his former personal chef, Jamila Adams, giving emotional testimony in court.

Adams told the court that Diggs allegedly assaulted and choked her during an argument at his mansion in Dedham, Massachusetts, in December 2025.

She also revealed that they had a sexual relationship before she started working for him as a live-in chef.

“It’s complicated,” Adams said while describing their relationship.

According to her, the relationship started as a friendship before becoming intimate.

She said they later agreed that she would work for him.

Adams testified that the alleged incident happened on December 2, 2025.

She said she had sent Diggs a text message because she was upset about not being included in a planned trip to Miami for the Art Basel event.

According to Adams, she had been helping Diggs’ girlfriend, Cardi B, prepare outfits for the show.

She claimed Diggs became angry during the conversation and later forced open her bedroom door to confront her.

Chef Jamila AdamsAdams alleged that Diggs slapped her before putting his arm around her neck and choking her.

During her testimony, Adams became emotional and paused several times while speaking about the incident.

She told the court that she was terrified during the alleged assault.

Adams also claimed tensions between them had started weeks earlier after Diggs accused her of spreading rumours about him and another female staff member.

According to her, Diggs later stopped her from attending the Art Basel trip after the disagreement.

The former chef admitted that she later sent Diggs an apologetic text message.

She explained that she wanted to remain calm so she could receive her final paycheck before leaving the job.

Diggs’ lawyer, Andrew Kettlewell, denied the allegations in court.

He argued that Adams fabricated parts of the story and said there was no physical evidence supporting the claims.

Diggs has pleaded not guilty to charges including felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery.

His legal team has maintained that he denies all allegations against him.
