Met Gala 2026 delivered another unforgettable night of fashion as celebrities, designers, and cultural icons gathered for one of the entertainment industry’s biggest annual events.
This year’s exhibition, titled “Costume Art,” explores the relationship between fashion and fine art. The exhibition will run from May 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, inside the newly opened Condé M. Nast Galleries.
The theme encouraged guests to treat fashion as artistic expression. With the dress code “Fashion is Art,” attendees arrived in bold, dramatic, and highly conceptual looks.
Many stars embraced classical influences, appearing in flowing drapery and sculptural silhouettes inspired by ancient art. Others explored the human body through sheer fabrics and illusion designs, continuing the growing trend of “naked dressing” on red carpets.
Among the biggest talking points of the night was Beyoncé, who arrived in a body-contoured gown designed by Olivier Rousteing. The outfit featured a mesh base decorated with a diamond skeleton pattern extending to her fingers.
She attended alongside her husband Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy Carter, who made her Met Gala debut.
Nicole Kidman also drew attention in a custom Chanel look created by Matthieu Blazy. Her daughter, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, attended the event for the first time wearing a pink Dior ensemble.
Venus Williams used fashion to reference a portrait created of her by artist Robert Pruitt. Her black Swarovski crystal mesh gown became one of the evening’s standout looks.
Other stars who attracted attention on the carpet included Zoë Kravitz, Doja Cat, Sabrina Carpenter, Lena Dunham, Teyana Taylor, A’ja Wilson, and Lisa.
The event once again blended fashion, celebrity culture, and art into a global spectacle watched by millions online.
As the evening continued, after-parties across New York City extended the celebration late into the night, keeping the Met Gala at the center of global entertainment and fashion conversations.
