Agradaa Released After Serving One Year of Original 15-Year Term

Heavens Way Founder Agradaa Returns Home After Jail Term Cut

AgradaaEvangelist Patricia Asieduaa Asiamah, widely known as Agradaa of Heavens Way International Ministry, has been released from prison following a reduction of her sentence. A video shared on Facebook by her husband, Angel Asiamah, on March 3, 2026, shows Agradaa at her home surrounded by family members, all dressed in white. In the caption, Angel Asiamah wrote, “Thank God my wife is finally home.”

Agradaa had appeared before the Amasaman High Court on February 5, 2026, to hear the judgment on her appeal. After several hours of proceedings, the court reduced her original 15-year sentence to 12 months on counts two and three, while maintaining her conviction. She was also fined 200 penalty units, equivalent to GH₵2,400, and ordered to refund GH₵1,000 to her two complainants, in addition to fines related to count one.

The court described the original 15-year sentence as harsh and excessive and exercised discretion to vary the punishment, making her total prison term effectively one year, backdated to her initial conviction on July 3, 2025. Agradaa had been convicted by an Accra Circuit Court on multiple charges, including charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence. The charges stemmed from her promotion of a so-called money-doubling scheme during church services in Weija, Greater Accra Region, in which congregants were promised miraculous financial returns in exchange for money. The unfulfilled promises prompted complaints from participants, leading to her prosecution.

Her release marks the end of a legal and highly publicized saga for the televangelist, whose ministry has been a prominent presence in Ghana’s religious landscape.
