Larry Dogbey SentencedJournalist and Managing Editor of The Herald, Larry Dogbey, has reportedly been convicted and sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment by an Accra High Court.

The ruling was delivered by Justice Isaac Addo on June 25, 2026, in a case involving businessman Kevin Okyere and Petraco SA.

Following the judgment, Dogbey expressed disappointment over the court’s decision and questioned the outcome of the case.

According to him, the publication at the centre of the matter was based on a petition submitted by Petraco SA to several state institutions.

He stated that the petition had reportedly been sent to agencies including the Criminal Investigations Department, Economic and Organised Crime Office, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and the Attorney-General’s Department.

Dogbey maintained that The Herald only published information connected to the petition as part of its responsibility to inform the public.

Reacting publicly after the ruling, he stated that the newspaper had merely carried out its journalistic duty.

He also described the conviction as unfair and argued that he had simply been performing his work as a journalist.
