His daughter, Sarah Adwoa Safo, announced at a press conference that the burial rites will take place on July 30, 2026, at Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region. She added that a funeral service will be held on July 31 at Independence Square in Accra, followed by a thanksgiving service on August 8 in Kumasi.

However, the announcement quickly sparked disagreement within the family. Another son of the late apostle, Akofena Safo, shared a separate funeral flyer on social media indicating June 25, 2026, as the burial date.

The conflicting timelines have intensified concerns over coordination within the family, with questions emerging about who is officially managing the funeral arrangements.

Further deepening the dispute, co-chairman of the funeral committee, claimed in an interview that the wider family was not consulted on the newly announced dates. He also raised concerns about the whereabouts of the body, suggesting that relatives have not been informed of its current location.

The situation continues to generate public attention as the family attempts to reconcile differing accounts and agree on a unified burial plan for one of Ghana’s most influential cultural and technological figures.
