Antoine Semenyo Breaks Tony Yeboah’s Premier League Record With 13 Goals
Manchester City’s Antoine Semenyo Sets New Ghana Premier League Scoring Record
Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has made English Premier League history, becoming the first Ghanaian player to score 13 goals in a single season.
The Black Stars attacker reached the milestone on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, when he found the net in Manchester City’s fixture against Fulham.
Semenyo’s 13th goal surpasses a long-standing record previously held by Tony Yeboah, who scored 12 goals during his celebrated spells with Leeds United in the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons.
The 12-goal mark was later equalled by Andre Ayew at Swansea City in the 2015/16 campaign, but no Ghanaian player had gone beyond that tally until now.
Semenyo had come close during the 2024/25 season, finishing with 11 goals. This campaign, however, he has moved ahead of every Ghanaian before him in England’s top flight.
Since stepping up from the Championship to the Premier League, Semenyo has steadily developed into one of the league’s most effective attacking options.
Despite only joining Manchester City during the winter transfer window, he has quickly become an important figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad as the club pushes for the Premier League title.
His achievement not only sets a new benchmark for Ghanaian players in England but also reinforces his growing influence in one of the world’s most competitive leagues.
