“Back Home”: iShowSpeed Touches Down in Ghana, Reveals Ghanaian Roots
iShowSpeed Plans to Buy House in Ghana After Emotional Homecoming Visit

Popular American YouTuber and live streamer iShowSpeed has arrived in Ghana as the final stop of his much-talked-about African tour, sparking excitement among fans, creators, and the wider online community.
The global internet sensation, famous for his high-energy live streams and millions of followers worldwide, arrived in Accra and left for Akropong as part of a tightly packed schedule filled with cultural experiences and public engagements. A key highlight of the visit is a supercar showcase at Independence Square, an event that has already sparked widespread excitement online.
During his stay in the Eastern Region, iShowSpeed visited Akropong, where he was ceremonially given the traditional name Barima Kofi Akuffo, symbolising his connection to Ghanaian heritage. The YouTuber revealed that his ancestry traces back to Ghana, noting that his mother is Ghanaian, and described the trip as a return “back home.”

Speed also shared plans to buy a house in Ghana, further reinforcing his personal connection to the country. While touring the Eastern Region, he tried Ghanaian mango for the first time, expressing surprise at learning it can be eaten without peeling the skin.
Ghana serves as the final stop of iShowSpeed’s Africa tour, a journey centred on culture, community, and authentic storytelling rather than influencer collaborations. Strengthening the local connection, Speed is being hosted and escorted by Ghana’s biggest YouTuber, Wode Maya, while his bodyguard, Rudiger, is also Ghanaian.
At the time of reporting, iShowSpeed and his team were livestreaming their helicopter flight to Accra, where the tour is expected to continue with more cultural activities and fan interactions. Watch the live stream below.
