iShowSpeed Says Africa Tour Is About Culture, Not Influencer Partnerships

Popular American streamer iShowSpeed has addressed criticism claiming he has been disrespectful for not collaborating with fellow content creators during his ongoing Africa tour in Nigeria. The streamer clarified that the tour’s purpose is to showcase African culture rather than focus on influencer partnerships.

In a statement, Speed explained that the tour is designed to highlight everyday Africans who are often unseen online, including street performers, local talents, and community members, rather than other streamers with established platforms.

Each stop on the tour is tightly scheduled and pre-planned by his team, with limited time and specific locations to visit in every country. This leaves little room for unscheduled collaborations, according to Speed.

“Many of the creators criticizing me already enjoy visibility and influence,” he said. “This tour is meant to give exposure to people who would otherwise not have access to a global audience.”

He added that he would not cancel or disrupt cultural activities arranged by locals to accommodate influencer requests, stressing that the Africa tour is about storytelling, cultural exchange, and representation, not streamer meet-ups. The focus, he emphasized, will remain unchanged.
