Naira Marley speaks on Mohbad’s death in new two-hour documentary

Lagos court clears Naira Marley as he tells his side of Mohbad’s story

Mohbad’s death: Naira Marley breaks silence, denies bullying and foul playNaira Marley has released a two-hour documentary sharing his account of events surrounding the death of his former signee, Promise Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. The Marlian Music founder said he never bullied Mohbad nor had any hand in his death.

Mohbad, who rose to fame with hits like Ask About Me and KPK, died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27. Earlier this year, a Yaba Magistrate’s Court in Lagos acquitted Naira Marley, music promoter Sam Larry, Primeboy, and Mohbad’s former manager of blame. The court instead recommended the prosecution of auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe, who it found acted with gross negligence in treating the singer.

In the documentary, Naira Marley alleged that Mohbad struggled with drug use and insisted their business dealings were transparent and split equally. He also shared evidence contradicting claims that Mohbad was too afraid to visit hospitals.

The singer further addressed Mohbad’s viral Instagram Live video in 2022, during which the late artist accused Marlian Music of plotting against him, stressing that Mohbad made the claims under duress following an NDLEA raid.

Naira Marley concluded that he was committed to telling his side of the story to counter widespread allegations.
