Offset Speaks Out After Florida Shooting
“The Grind Doesn’t Stop” — Offset Opens Up on Shooting Recovery
Offset has broken his silence after being shot in Florida, saying he is focused on recovery and moving forward rather than seeking sympathy.
The rapper was injured near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on April 6. Speaking during an interview on the Creators Inc. Podcast with Andy Bachman, he described the incident as a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Despite the severity of the situation, Offset said he chose to keep working. Within days of the shooting, he traveled from Florida to Los Angeles to perform and continue his schedule.
“Gotta keep pushing, like the Energizer Bunny,” he said, emphasizing that slowing down was not an option.
He also shared details about the journey, explaining that a bed was set up in a private G5 jet to make the trip manageable while recovering.
Offset made it clear that he does not want public sympathy. He said his focus is on staying active and continuing his work.
“At the end of the day, the grind doesn’t stop. I don’t want anybody to feel sorry for me,” he said.
Following the incident, he also addressed fans on social media, thanking those who checked on him and confirming that he is recovering.
“I’m good… but I’m planning to be better,” he wrote, adding that his priorities include family, recovery, and returning to music.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the shooting. The FBI’s Miami field office is currently handling the case as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
For Offset, the focus remains on momentum. His response reflects a mindset centered on resilience, as he continues to move forward after the incident.
