Nigerian Bodybuilder Andrew Jacked Claims Arnold Classic Victory
Andrew Jacked has secured a landmark victory at the Arnold Classic after winning the Men’s Open title at the prestigious bodybuilding competition. The Nigerian athlete, whose real name is Chinedu Andrew Obiekea, delivered a standout performance at the 38th edition of the event held in Columbus, Ohio.
The Arnold Classic is widely regarded as one of the most important contests in professional bodybuilding, second only to the Mr Olympia competition. Andrew Jacked’s victory at the event not only strengthened his reputation in the sport but also earned him the largest prize ever awarded in the competition’s history, totaling $750,000.
Heading into the contest, Andrew Jacked was already considered one of the favourites. His status had grown significantly after finishing third at the 2025 Mr Olympia, a performance that positioned him among the leading athletes in the Men’s Open division.
The lineup in Columbus featured several top competitors, although notable names such as Derek Lunsford and Samson Dauda were absent from the event. Their absence opened the door for a new champion to emerge, and Andrew Jacked capitalised on the opportunity.
During the competition, he impressed judges with a well-balanced physique that combined muscle fullness, symmetry and strong conditioning. His posing routine stood out throughout the judging rounds, ultimately placing him ahead of a competitive field.
American bodybuilder Nick Walker finished in second place and received $250,000 in prize money. Former champion Hadi Choopan secured third place and earned $150,000.
The rest of the top six included Martin Fitzwater in fourth place, Brandon Curry in fifth, and Brazil’s Rafael Brandao in sixth.
The Arnold Classic was founded by legendary bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger and has grown into one of the most prestigious competitions on the global bodybuilding calendar. Winning the event is considered a major milestone for athletes competing at the highest level of the sport.
Following his historic triumph, Andrew Jacked reflected on the moment during a post-competition interview. He acknowledged the significance of the achievement and expressed gratitude for the journey that led him to this point in his career.
The victory further strengthens his standing among the world’s elite bodybuilders and positions him as one of the leading contenders in future international competitions.
