The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards transformed the red carpet at the Eko Hotel & Suites into a bold celebration of African fashion, creativity, and couture design.
This year’s AMVCA red carpet delivered more than glamour. It became a showcase of artistic storytelling, with celebrities embracing sculptural designs, metallic textures, floral detailing, and dramatic silhouettes that highlighted the growing influence of African fashion on the global stage.
Among the standout stars was Osas Ighodaro, who arrived in two custom looks designed by Veekee James. Her first outfit featured a striking red column gown with a structured crystal-edged collar that created a powerful sculptural effect.
She later changed into a silver ball gown with crystal embellishments and a dramatic skirt reportedly crafted from hundreds of metallic sponges, turning the look into one of the most talked-about fashion moments of the night.
Nana Akua Addo also dominated attention with three elaborate looks that blended fashion with art.
Her opening look, designed by Mohammed Abbas Ossu, drew inspiration from Gothic cathedral architecture. She later appeared in the designer’s “Living Stone” gown, a textured mermaid-style outfit that resembled sculpted rock formations.
To complete her fashion showcase, Nana Akua Addo stepped out in a spiral fish-scale gown from The Unbound Collection by Srushti Patil, paired with a fish-shaped beaded bag that tied the entire concept together.
Actress Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman also delivered one of the evening’s most memorable looks while celebrating a major career milestone at the awards ceremony.
She wore a metallic emerald green gown featuring a plunging neckline decorated with colourful 3D floral appliqués, beaded fringe, and butterfly-inspired detailing.
The dramatic outfit also included a branch-like extension rising from one shoulder, creating the illusion of a blooming botanical sculpture around her neckline and face.
The AMVCA has continued to evolve beyond an awards ceremony into one of Africa’s biggest fashion and entertainment platforms.
This year’s event reflected the growing technical creativity of African designers, who are increasingly pushing boundaries with experimental materials, wearable art, and detailed craftsmanship.
From architectural gowns to nature-inspired couture, the women at the 2026 AMVCA used fashion not just to impress, but to tell stories through design.
