Clinton Joshua says acting was never part of his plan before his rise in Nollywood.
In an interview on TVC, Clinton Joshua Ezewele explained that his career started in fashion modelling. He worked with a brand before a film director reached out through the company.
At first, he turned down the offer. He said he had no interest in acting. However, the director kept in touch and convinced him to give it a try.
“I never thought about acting for once in my life. It came as an opportunity,” he said.
That decision changed everything. His first film brought him into the spotlight and opened the door to Nollywood.
Clinton Joshua also spoke about being called a “YouTube actor.” He said the label reflects where many people first saw him. However, he believes it is sometimes used in a negative way.
According to him, some people assume actors on YouTube lack skill or experience. He said this perception does not reflect the work many actors put into their craft.
“I don’t blame people who call me a YouTube actor, but sometimes it’s used to look down on the work,” he explained.
Despite his early doubts, his mindset has changed. He said he is now fully committed to acting and continues to grow in the field.
His journey shows how new paths are shaping Nollywood. Many actors are now entering the industry through digital platforms and alternative routes.
For Clinton Joshua, what started as an unexpected chance has become a clear career path.
