CPC Honours Vice President for Championing Ghana’s Cocoa Value Addition
Vice President Opoku-Agyeman Advises CPC to Adopt Bold Marketing Strategies for Growth
Ghana’s Vice President, Her Excellency Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has called on the leadership of Cocoa Processing Company PLC to strengthen and modernize its marketing efforts to position GoldenTree and other CPC products as top choices in local and global markets. She noted that while Ghana’s premium cocoa remains a strong selling point, the company must combine push and pull marketing strategies to drive consumption, grow visibility, and unlock new market opportunities.
The Vice President described her remarks as “a free consultancy” to CPC’s management and encouraged the company to widen its engagement channels. She emphasized that CPC’s products are nutritious and already trusted by consumers, yet require stronger nationwide promotion and easier access across retail points.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang made these comments during a courtesy call by the Board and Management of CPC. The delegation visited to express appreciation for her ongoing commitment to Ghana’s cocoa value addition agenda and her support in promoting CPC to investors and partners across different platforms.
Led by Managing Director Professor William Coffie, the team presented a Citation of Honour in recognition of her advocacy for the growth of CPC’s GoldenTree and Portem brands. The delegation included Deputy Managing Director Mrs. Fatimah Amoadu, Deputy Managing Director in Charge of Operations Mr. Osei K. Griffiths, Board Members Mr. Gregory Quarshie and Mr. Gideon Destiny Abotsi, and Head of Corporate Affairs Mr. David Asare Oduro.
An excerpt from the citation acknowledged her impact on the company’s visibility and competitiveness:
“You have championed Ghana’s cocoa on local and international platforms and elevated the presence of our GoldenTree and Portem brands. Your advocacy has created new opportunities for CPC and strengthened our position in global markets. In appreciation of your contribution to the growth and repositioning of CPC, we say Ayekoo.”
