Showboy Remanded After Missing Court Hearing
Adenta Circuit Court Remands Showboy for Two Weeks
The Adenta Circuit Court has adjourned the ongoing case involving Ghanaian musician and socialite Showboy after he arrived late for his scheduled hearing on February 12, 2026.
The court ordered that Showboy be remanded in custody for an additional two weeks as investigations into the matter continue.
Showboy was arrested in connection with alleged blackmail and defamatory conduct directed at entrepreneur and music executive Davido GH (David Mensah).
The case centers on claims that the musician threatened to release sensitive information about Davido GH unless certain demands were met.
Arrest and CID Involvement
The controversy escalated in January 2026 when officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) attempted to arrest Showboy at his residence. The confrontation was widely shared on social media.
In videos from the incident, Showboy questioned the legality of the arrest and demanded to see a warrant before cooperating with officers.
He was eventually arrested on February 4, 2026, and subsequently arraigned before the Adenta Circuit Court.
Psychiatric Evaluation Ordered
Following his initial court appearance, the court ordered a psychiatric evaluation to determine his mental fitness to stand trial.
After being declared mentally fit, Showboy was returned to custody, where he remains under police supervision pending further proceedings.
The case has drawn significant public attention, with the next hearing expected after the two-week remand period.
