Chief of Staff Receives Bodies of Z-9 Helicopter Crash Victims
Bodies from Ghana Helicopter Crash Flown to 37 Military Hospital
The bodies of all eight individuals who perished in the Z-9 military helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, have been flown to Accra for burial preparations.
The remains, which were recovered from the crash site near Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region, were transported aboard a Ghana Air Force Casa aircraft. They arrived late Wednesday night and were deposited at the 37 Military Hospital morgue.
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, along with other high-ranking officials and clergy, received the bodies during a solemn ceremony marked by prayers and national mourning.
Authorities say investigations into the cause of the fatal crash are currently underway, with the Ghana Armed Forces leading efforts to determine what led to the tragedy.
Preparations for interment are ongoing.
